The PowerSquare 160 Hand-Feed System and 160VF with Vacuum Feeder deliver professionally finished SquareBack booklets to meet the needs of mid to high volume digital production printers. With an increasing number of printing systems able to handle long sheets, the production of letter landscape booklets is becoming a more and more important application.

The PowerSquare 160 is a powerful hand feed booklet maker with one pass stapling, folding, square spine forming and face trimming to produce added value SquareBack books your customers will love!  SquareBack books have the superior square-spined appearance of a perfect bound book, but with the security of a stitched spine. They lie flat and are easy to pack, stack and handle. There is no risk of loose pages and you can print on the spine.

The PowerSquare 160VF with its high-capacity dual bin feeder offers a flexible solution for a wide range of booklet types and sizes. The system is fed by the VF vacuum assisted feeder which has a loading capacity of up to 21” giving long uninterrupted production runs. Pre-collated sets can be placed into both bins for longer runs or covers can be placed into one of the bins when they need to be merged with collated sets. The feeder can also be loaded on the run with automatic bin switching. Optional barcode readers can be fitted to the VF for variable page count jobs or to ensure set integrity.

Greater flexibility is offered with the capability of handling up to 40 sheets of 20 lb. bond to produce up to a 160 page booklet and for booklets with thicker sheets and fewer pages it will handle up to 400 gsm (150 lb. cover stock). 

The maintenance free stapling system contains 5,000 high tensile staples in each cartridge.  The 2 low impact staple heads with moving clinchers produce a flat stapled finish.  The staple heads auto-adjust the staple pitch according to the the sheet size with a range of 4" to 6".

The PowerSquare™ Book Stacker (PBS) delivers huge efficiency gains, enabling unattended operation for extended periods. Different sized books need no adjustment and you can unload the stacker on-the-run. Books are stacked vertically, so very little extra floor space is needed.  With a 36.5" capacity it does not require unloading for extended periods allowing the operator to focus on feeding.

The PowerSquare™ 2-Knife Trimmer (P2T) completes the booklet making process by trimming the top and bottom edge of the book. It provides a professional solution for full-bleed printed work, essential for color printed applications.
Side trimming the finished book is the last process to give a cleaner, sharper and more accurate result than pre-slitting.  Up to 1.5” can be trimmed from each end of a book.  The trim position can be offset to match the image position.
